Changseong Ho and Jiwon Moon
Co-Founders of TheVentures
Changseong and Jiwon began their entrepreneurial journey at Stanford and Harvard in 2007 when they co-founded Viki, a community-powered video translation platform. With the vision of breaking down the language barriers and cultural barriers, they created Viki.com to introduce Asian video content to the people in the Western world by adopting crowd-sourced subtitle translation. Viki’s community has produced 100M lines of subtitle text in 130 languages while acquiring +40M users from around the world. In 2013, Viki was acquired by Rakuten for $200M.
Since the Viki exit, they have invested in +120 startups in Korea, the United States, Canada, India, and Vietnam. Their current investment focus is “impact investing” focusing on opportunities in APAC. They are leading Impact Collective, a community-driven impact investment program, and aiming to redefine the capital model for startups in APAC region by bringing the collective power of community and local experts into the investment and incubation process.
Taesung Kim

Taesung is an entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in real estate development/operation, urban planning, parking services, IT and mobility.
In 2014, he founded Parking Square and it became TheVentures’ first portfolio company. Since Parking Square was successfully acquired by Kakao in 2016, he served as a director of Kakao Mobility until 2020.
Now, as an investor and a company builder at TheVentures, Taesung is working hands-on with its portfolio’s founders.
Sean Kim

Sean failed in his first startup which he co-founded with Chris when he was a college student.
Despite the initial failure, instead of joining a large global company, he co-founded Sellit with Chris in a basement.
Before joining TheVentures, Sean worked as a Chief Product Officer in Bunjang, leading not only product development but also various projects, including talent acquisition and strategic selling of stake.
Chris Kim

Prior to Sellit’s success, Chris failed in his first two businesses.
Living in a cubby-hole, he founded Sellit, a second-hand electronics trading service. A year later, as TheVentures’ first exit case, Sellit was successfully acquired by Kakao. After the acquisition, Chris led Sellit’s merger with Bunjang.
Prior to joining TheVentures, Chris worked as a Chief Commerce Officer in Bunjang, since the merger with Sellit and Bunjang in 2017.
Eunielle Yi

Eunielle is an entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience in startup ecosystem.Prior to TheVentures, she oversaw business strategy and digital transformation for various sector such as mobile gaming, consumer brands and blockchain technology, after her first professional experience in Paprika Lab - a Korean gaming startup acquired by GREE, a global mobile gaming giant, in 2012. Eunielle’s business interests are collective services, open innovation, and social impact
Songyi Lee

Songyi is an entrepreneur and collective builder, using technology for impact. She is passionate about building a globally collaborative economy with purpose-driven entrepreneurs and emerging technologies. Prior to the Ventures, she co-founded a Silicon Valley startup that empowered the world’s unbanked population by providing access to Bitcoin through a decentralized SMS network. She is using her global experience to connect leaders and communities and create a positive impact in the world. She helps individuals and organizations change the way they innovate through the tools of self-management, the future of entrepreneurship, and new collaboration tools.
Jisun Yeum

Jisun has experience working on finance and accounting management with more than 50 offices. In TheVentures, she is in charge of fund transaction, pre and post-investment management.
Jisun is also TIPS co-ordinator helping founders with whole TIPS process. While she is doing that, She had been fascinated to VC and Stratups ecosystem.
Gil Lee

Han-gil is a serial entrepreneur, who founded four tech startups during his life time in university. Before joing to TheVentures in 2022, he worked in FuturePlay VC as an Analyst intern.
Han-gil is thinking about the development of startups together and is going to work with startups that are moving toward creative destruction.
Kevin Eum

Until mid 20’s, startup never existed in Kevin's roadmap.
But after being exposed to the addictive atmosphere of startup scenes, he became a founding member of ad-tech startup. After few trailblazing years, he moved on to product career at the ad-tech startup and then e-commerce platform. Through his experience he found passion for combining people, process, and product all together to build something amazing. At The Ventures, he focuses on building a community of founders.
Hailey Lee

Hailey kicked off her career by joining the tech startup scene in California immediately after graduation. From running a marketing campaign to working on a product ideation, Hailey has hands-on experience in growing and scaling a startup.
Hailey loves learning about innovative tech solutions disrupting the traditional landscape, and hopes to connect and support entrepreneurs in upscaling their businesses.
Eddy Kim

Eddy is EIR of TheVentures who wants to change the world.
he experiened business development and product management in early stage startups. Before joining to TheVentures, he worked as Product Owner in Bunjang. He was in charge of payment, logistics and massenger service.
He is launching Fintech startups soon. He wants to develope his service to help cash flow of people who are vulnerable from tranditional bank service.
Ian Kim

While attending at the University of Toronto, Ian operated a fitness F&B business.
The capacity of venture capitalists to give value to society has long attracted Ian, who has developed an entrepreneurial mindset through several business experiences and interships at NH Investment & Securities and Naver.
Ian believes he can contribute to the industry after completing his studies in Vietnam by applying his diverse perspective, which he developed from exploring the cultures in Korea, Canada, and Vietnam.
